The Challenge

As one of the few people in my program who drive, I realized that those who used transit lived relatively close to campus. The times where I was late, it was because of heavy traffic or in exrteme cases, a flooded highway. People who used transit were late due to a lost compass card or because the forgot to reload their card. So, how do we aid transit users in making their commute as smooth as possible?

The Solution

Design a mobile transit app that allows users to manage all their needs without the hassle of forgetfulness. From the beginning of our research to UI and implementation, my team and I designed CompassPlus to allow users to manage their compass cards and plan trips with a simple tap. We made it so your phone was the card itself, allowing the user to buy tickets, add funds and tap to pay in buses.
